Why it’s interesting

Enter the Void turns an ordinary walk into movement through a responsive field of light. Synchronized projections cover the surfaces of a tunnel while Kinect tracking follows the positions and gestures of several visitors. Color, distortion, and fluid-looking forms change across the whole space as people move, so the installation feels collectively stirred rather than controlled by one screen or one person. The documented work is a finished immersive installation, not a downloadable visual generator or a remote browser experience.

How to try it

Open Aelion’s first-party project page and watch the WMF 2025 photographs and installation footage. Start by following one visitor’s movement, then notice how the projected scene changes when several people occupy the tunnel together. The archive can be viewed online without an account, camera permission, or local installation. The original interaction depended on a physical projection environment and Kinect sensors, so the page is presented as a complete record rather than as a promise that visitors can operate the work from home.

Requirements and sources

Aelion created the installation for WMF 2025. Its official project page supports the creator, venue context, synchronized tunnel format, Kinect tracking, multi-person interaction, and current archival access recorded here. The tracking system feeds visitor positions and gestures into a generative visual system that changes the surrounding projections in real time. The festival installation has ended, while the first-party photos and video remain available. The output is an artistic response to movement, not a measurement of identity, emotion, or any other personal attribute.
