Why it’s interesting
Nonsensio & Molestio is an absurd browser play that can continue without an ending. Nonsensio turns concrete images into impossible consequences, while Molestio replies as an impatient rationalist whose confident corrections are just as ridiculous. Maker mastorna rebuilt a 2014 PROCJAM Flash experiment in 2026: instead of recombining a fixed catalogue of lines, two small language-model characters now generate each exchange live. A question mark introduces a mystery, an exclamation mark starts a dispute, the fish drops them into a different absurd situation, and the speech bubble lets the audience provide a topic.
How to try it
Open the interactive page and read the device notice before choosing a model and dialogue language in Setup. The lightest listed option is Qwen 2.5 0.5B Instruct, estimated at about 0.9 GB of GPU or shared memory with at least 2 GB available recommended. The download begins only after you press Proceed. Once it starts, the dialogue alternates automatically; use the question mark, exclamation mark or fish to redirect the next speaker, or enter your own subject with the speech bubble. Simplified Chinese is among the available dialogue languages.
Requirements and sources
The experience is free and needs no account, but it requires a recent desktop browser with WebGPU. The first run downloads the selected model into browser cache, and continuous generation can use substantial GPU or shared memory, slow other applications, warm the machine and drain a laptop battery. The maker states that dialogue generation occurs locally in the browser and is not sent to a remote inference service. The official story traces the project from its PROCJAM 2014 Flash release to the WebLLM and WebGPU remake, while the site journal dates the new story to August 4, 2026. The cover is the maker’s official image for the 2014 itch.io original, credited as historical artwork rather than a screenshot of the remake.
