Why it’s interesting
Omi puts conversation capture into a small pendant. Its companion software transcribes speech, creates summaries and lets you ask questions about recorded moments. The interesting interaction is returning to something you said or heard and asking the AI to help retrieve it. The product page shows the device and links to an official launch demonstration.
How to try it
Recording can include people nearby. Omi’s privacy policy describes cloud storage and third-party processing, so open source and local options do not mean the default experience is fully offline. Get consent and check recording and storage settings before enabling capture.

Checked on September 4, 2026: the product FAQ lists a $179 device, on-phone transcription and 300 monthly cloud transcription minutes. Unlimited cloud transcription starts at $19 per month.
